The Kaiserstuhl-Tuniberg region is directly situated on the Upper Rhine and represents one of the warmest German regions. The river Rhine surrounds and limits the vineyards of the Kaiserstuhl and is the border to France at the same time.
Breisach, Sasbach and Vogtsburg-Burkheim are directly on the Rhine. In Breisach and Sasbach you can go to France by crossing the border, the bridges. A local shipping company (Breisacher Fahrgastschifffahrt) has its seat and piers in Breisach. They offer a wide range of cruises.
Besides, in Breisach there are piers of further shipping companies ("Croisi Europe" and "Viking Flusskreuzfahrten") offering their piers for rental, too. On the Rhine, approximately 20 kilometres in the north of the Kaiserstuhl, there are the natural reserves Taubergießen which you can discover on a boat trip.
